Dr. Hassan El-Nomany, President of Sohag University, conducted an inspection tour to follow up the progress of work within the administrations of the female students’ campus at the university’s old headquarters, and to review the logistical preparations scheduled to begin for the new academic year 2025/2026.
The tour was attended by Major General Tarek Hafez, Director of University Security, Hamed El-Kholi, Director General of the University Campuses, and a number of unit officials in the campuses.
Al-Nomany explained that university dormtories are among the most important student service sectors that receive great attention from the university administration, as the university is keen to continuously improve the efficiency of buildings and infrastructure, and provide all means of comfort and care for expatriate male and female students, to ensure accommodation and living in an integrated and appropriate environment to help them achieve academic achievement and excel successfully.
He pointed out that a comprehensive plan has been set to replace and renew furniture in dormitories’ rooms.
The new furniture and furnishings, costing 9 million pounds so far, have already been received and are being distributed throughout the university campuses in preparation for furnishing the dormitories and study halls before the start of the new academic year.
From his part, Hamed El-Kholi said that the university president made a surprise visit to the university dormitory restaurant for female students, and inspected the stages of preparing the meals provided to them, and ensured the efficiency and cleanliness of the equipment used, and the workers’ commitment to security and safety requirements.
He also directed the provision of appropriate bread to feed the female students, and not to delay in serving meals at their specified times, adding that the university president also inspected the cities’ laundries.
In addition to inspecting the “cylinder” unit that was replaced and equipped with a hot water boiler at a cost of 350 thousand pounds, which was recently installed in Building (A), to increase the efficiency of hot water in the bathrooms inside the building, noting that the university president directed the rapid completion of all equipment and development and renovation operations in all university dormitories before the start of the new academic year.
