In continuation of its active participation in the Decent Life initiative. Sohag University launches its development convoy to the village of Al-Diabat

Sohag University launched a comprehensive development convoy to the village of Al-Diabat in the center of Akhmim, as a continuation of the series of development convoys launched by the university throughout the governorate, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, as part of the Decent Life initiative, and to achieve the sustainable development goals and Egypt’s Vision 2023. This was stated by Prof. Hassan Al-Nomani, President of the University.

Al-Nomani stressed that the university is keen to participate effectively and positively in the “Decent Life” initiative, in light of its social responsibility, and the implementation of its plan, which is one of its priorities to contribute to improving medical service indicators, providing distinguished treatment services, raising awareness to the people of the most needy areas, providing them with various aspects of care, and reducing the burden on their shoulders.

Prof. Khaled Omran, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, stressed that the university administration is working to harness all its capabilities to provide services to citizens in various sectors and disciplines, and to contribute to the advancement of health, social and environmental development for society groups in general and the unable in particular, based on its awareness of the need for effective community participation.

Prof. Magdy Al-Qadi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, said that during the convoy, the medical examination was received on 853 cases in the clinics of internal medicine, children, women and obstetrics, psychological and neurological, ear, nose and throat, chest, dermatology, surgery, speech, and tracts, in addition to dispensing medicines and treatment for free through the convoy’s pharmacy.

Dr. Osama Hassan Abu Shama, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, indicated that the convoy also included treatment teams in various clinical specialties (veterinary surgery – childbirth and infertility diseases – internal diseases and infectious diseases – poultry diseases), where doctors examined 467 cases of illness in clinics and dispensed treatment for them, and the convoy played a preventive role for non-sick animals by combating external parasites by spraying with pesticides, and surgeries were performed by specialized professors and treatment of cases of infertility and delay. Births.
