Dr. Hassan El-Nomany, President of Sohag University, honored the University Hospitals team after the university received the “University Hospitals Star” award for the first time in recognition of its outstanding performance.
The award was presented during the first University Hospitals Conference, organized by the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, in recognition of their efforts to serve patients in Sohag Governorate and neighboring Upper Egypt governorates.
Al-Nomany expressed his happiness with every achievement, saying that this accomplishment thanks to the dedication and hard work of all members of the university hospitals, including medical and nursing staff, who work as one team 24 hours a day.
He praised their important and humanitarian role in alleviating the suffering and pain of patients and visitors, stressing that history will not forget to mention every loyal and hardworking person who took responsibility and mastered it to serve our dear country.
Al-Nomany said that the achievements made on the ground in this important sector, and the medical facilities that have been completed, numbering 6 hospitals, service hospitals and others under construction that are worthy of the citizens of Upper Egypt, is something that calls for pride and honor, and confirms that the health sector at Sohag University is up to the responsibility and is proceeding at full speed, as Sohag University Hospitals bear more than 70% of the health service in the governorate.
This demonstrates citizens’ confidence in the university’s free medical services, which are of a high standard of quality and efficiency.
The team expressed their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Hassan, who has raised the slogan of seriousness in work since he assumed the presidency of the university, so that everyone near and far could see the extent of developments that have occurred in the health sector and various sectors of the university, expressing their pride in this honor from the Ministry of Higher Education and Dr. Hassan Al-Nomany, President of the University, and emphasizing their continued efforts to provide the best treatment and medical services to patients around the clock, they explained that the Emergency Hospital received more than 171,000 patients, and nearly 400,000 citizens visited the outpatient clinics during 2024.
