To eliminate queues. Purchase of cardiac and arterial catheterization device at Sohag University Hospital at a cost of 15 million pounds

Prof. Hassan Al-Nomani, President of Sohag University, stated that in implementation of the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to eliminate waiting lists and alleviate the suffering of patients, a cardiac and arterial catheterization device was purchased to serve heart patients visiting the new university hospital, which helps in receiving more cases and providing them with appropriate health and treatment care.

Al-Nomani said that the new device is the first of its kind in Upper Egypt and costs 15 million pounds, and will serve heart patients who frequent the cardiac catheterization unit at the hospital in particular, and its services will also extend to include cardiac catheterization for children, and catheterization of arteries and vessels in the Department of Vascular Surgery, in addition to the treatment of patients with brain arteries in the departments of diseases and neurosurgery.

Prof. Magdy Amin Al-Qadi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, pointed out that the device is one of the highly efficient devices that comply with international and modern standards for cardiac catheterization, as work is underway to install and test it in preparation for its operation and work soon.

Dr. Sharaf El-Din Shazly, Head of the Department of Cardiology, explained that the Cardiac Catheterization Unit was operated in 2004 and is equipped with the latest technology and has a selection of distinguished medical cadres in order to serve a wide range of heart patients in the governorate and neighboring governorates.

Dr. Ahmed Hamed, Director of the new university hospital, added that the device works to help doctors get a clear perception of the cases that require catheterization in a more effective and safe manner, and that it will also help provide treatment service to patients next to the device in the old university hospital.
