Students for Egypt union at the Faculty of Engineering at Sohag University organized an educational symposium entitled “Climate Changes in light of Egypt’s hosting of the COP27 Conference”, in the presence of Dr. Talaat Ali, Vice Dean of the faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, heads of departments, and a number of faculty staff members.
Prof Mustafa Abdel-Khaleq, the president of the University, praised the topic of the symposium and the wide attention it receives from the Egyptian state, considering that the climate issue is one of the urgent societal issues that comes within the objectives of Egypt’s strategy for sustainable development 2030, adding that the climate conference, which Egypt is hosting in Sharm El-Sheikh, in the presence of leaders, leaders, princes and kings from 197 countries around the world, with the aim of discussing the issue of climate change and its impact on the environment, and reviewing the efforts of those countries to confront this problem.
From his part, Prof. Hassan Al-Noamani explained that the climate issue is at the top of the challenges facing the world at the present time, after it has been scientifically proven that human activity since the industrial revolution has caused huge damages suffered by all countries, so it required a collective action to reduce emissions that cause climate change, Pointing out that Egypt has put the issue of climate change at the forefront of its efforts due to its location and the great damage that is affected the African continent in reducing emissions
