Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, received a delegation from the Teacher Excellence Initiative (TEI) project, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in order to deliver a mobile communications technology unit in preparation for starting work on the stages of the initiative.
The delegation included Dr. Ashour Ahmed Al-Omari, representative of the Ministry of Higher Education. and scientific research, Dr. Hazem Rashid, advisor to the Teacher Excellence Initiative project and former dean of Faculty of Education at Ain Shams University, and engineer Ahmed Salem (communication and information technology specialist in the project), in the presence of Dr. Hussein Taha Atta, Acting Dean of Faculty of Education, and Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Assistant Professor in the Educational Technology Department.
Al-Numani stressed the effective and important role of the educational sector and its faculties in forming a graduate whose skills are consistent with the needs of schools, and qualifying and training him in the field as an assistant teacher for teaching staff in schools to serve the educational process.
The university president explained that the project aims to improve the quality of education for students in the faculties of education in the Egyptian universities, develop teachers’ capabilities and enhance their skills, support the student learning process and advance education reform, adding that the implementation of the project comes within the framework of the agreement signed between the Egyptian government and the American government to support education in the Arab Republic of Egypt and strengthen the capabilities of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Supreme Council of Universities to cope with teacher education programs with national reform efforts, and build the new republic in light of Egypt’s Vision 2030.
