Sohag University President participates in the Cultivation of Wheat, Barley, and Clover at Al-Kawthar Farm

 

Dr. Hassan Al-Noamany, President of Sohag University, participated in the activities of planting 20 acres of wheat to produce one-sixth of 12 certified seeds, and 11 acres of barley, as well as planting 23 acres of Egyptian clover, during his inspection tour of the faculty of Agriculture’s farm in the Al-Kawthar neighborhood.

He also inspected the lands designated for growing local beans, Onions, cabbage, cauliflower, cucumber, zucchini Accompanied by the accountant Ashraf Al-Qadi, Secretary-General of the University, Dr. Khalaf Hammam, Dean of the faculty, Dr. Hazem Al-Mushanab, Dean of faculty of Science.

Dr. Zeinham Sheikhoun, Vice Dean of faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Major General Tariq Hafez, Director of University Security, Dr. Mohamed Orabi, Executive Director of the Center for Agricultural Experiments and Research, Dr. Mohamed Helmy, Scientific Supervisor of the Crop Farm for the Seed Production Unit, Dr. Sayed Jibril, Scientific Supervisor of the Al-Khader Farm, and Ahmed Al-Salmi, faculty Secretary, and a group of the faculty staff members.

The university president said that the agricultural sector receives great attention from the political leadership in Egypt, and is witnessing a remarkable development boom, as the government seeks to invest in modern and advanced agricultural technology, and to develop mechanization systems and technological means that contribute to maintaining food security, improving productivity, and increasing exports.

This is beneficial for advancing development, advancing the Egyptian economy, and achieving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030

Al-Numany stressed that faculty of Agriculture plays an important role in serving the local community, and has a distinct imprint in agricultural development in the governorate, through the research projects in various agricultural fields that it presents to solve the problems facing the agricultural sector, stressing that the university’s farms are distinguished by their vast area, fertile soil, and diverse capabilities and high-quality and efficient production capabilities, praising the productivity of this season of agricultural crops, especially vegetables and fruits.

Dr. Khalaf Hammam explained that Al-Kawthar Farm extends over about 160 acres, and contains an agricultural production farm and multiple agricultural crops that are distinguished by their high quality and productivity, an animal production farm of sheep, goats, and buffalo, a fruit farm on an area of ​​45 acres, and a rabbit farm and the quail farm, explaining that the crops of vegetables and fruits were harvested, a number of which were distributed for sale to university employees at the outlets that sell the products of the faculty of Agriculture at the headquarters. the university.
