Sohag University President and the Governor witness the Third Trial at Faculty of Law*

Prof. Hassan Al-Nomany, President of Sohag University, witnessed the activities of the third mock trial under the title “Criminal Liability Resulted from Robotic Surgeries,” which was organized by Faculty of Law, in the presence of Major General Tariq Al-Feki, Governor of the Region, Major General Dr. Mohamed Fawzi, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of the Republic, and Counselor Bahaa Al-Marri, President of the Court of Mansoura Criminal Courts, Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin and Dr. Khaled Omran, Vice Presidents of the University, the accountant Ashraf Al-Qadi, Secretary-General of the University, Dr. Rabeh Rateeb, Dean of the faculty, Dr. Nabil Nour El-Din, former President of the University, deans of faculties, vice-presidents of the university, and a number of presidents of courts and judicial bodies, advisors and members of the prosecution in the large conference hall in the old university campus.

At the beginning of his speech, Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani welcomed the university’s distinguished guests for attending one of the distinguished events organized by the faculty of Law for the third year in a row, congratulating President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and to all the honorable attendees, praising the faculty’s students and the distinguished level that showed their abilities during the presentation. Mock trial, on expression and rhetoric, stressing the importance of this event, which aims to provide an applied model for real courts, to serve as practical training for students to hone their legal expertise, train them to practice different legal and functional roles in a professional manner, and help remove their fear of the corridors of courts after their graduation

 

Dr. Rabeh Ratib Ali stressed that this trial comes as a continuation of the practical aspect that enhances the theoretical aspect of the educational process, as it contributes to refining many of the students’ legal skills, raises their practical competence and prepares them to engage in the legal professions, and train in the skills and arts of judicial work, offering his thanks.

The President of the University expressed his support for all the activities organized by the faculty and for the attendees who participated in this distinguished event with the university, adding that the trial witnessed strong competition among the students, as they presented distinguished presentations for the trial, which was well prepared, and represented all its elements, including defendants, prosecution, and advisors.

Counselor Bahaa Al-Marri praised the students’ performance in the mock trial, describing it as a type of first-class judicial drama, explaining that the students embodied the trial, which dealt with “criminal liability arising from robotic surgeries.”

 

In an honorable and professional manner, which proves that Sohag University is full of distinguished young models who will have an important role in judicial work in the future.
