Sohag University honors the Sustainability Unit team for obtaining the fifth place in Africa for the second year

Prof/ Mostafa Abdel-Khaleq, President of Sohag University, honored the staff of the Sustainability Unit at the university for their efforts in obtaining the university’s fifth place in Africa for the second year from the international classification body “UI GreenMetric” for environmentally friendly universities, in the presence of Prof/Hassan Al-Noamani, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Dr/Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, the accountant Ashraf Al-Qadi, Secretary General of the University, Dr/ Hamdi Mahmoud, Director of the Sustainability Unit and General Coordinator of the Environmental Friendly University, and Dr/Sabah Saber, the Activities Coordinator for the Environmentally Friendly University and the participating team.

The President of the University thanked the work team participating in this great achievement, which contributed to the advancement of the university’s name internationally.

Dr/ Hamdi Mahmoud said that 40 members of the Sustainability Unit, the Supporting Authority, and the six assessment criteria team were honored, which included the carbon footprint, reducing harmful emissions, infrastructure and green cover, energy rationalization and the development of environmentally friendly sources, as well as rationalizing water consumption, in addition to separating and recycling waste, and the use of less polluting transportation means. the presence of a sustainability unit at the university that has a website that is updated periodically to spread environmental awareness among university employees.
