Sohag University Council sets the date of the final exams and agrees to establish a human rights unit and activate the office information systems program with the credit hour system at Faculty of Arts

Prof Hassan Al-Nomani, President of Sohag University, chaired the 205th session of the University Council, in the presence of Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin and Dr. Khaled Omran, Vice Presidents of the University, the accountant Ashraf Al-Qadi, Secretary-General of the University, and the deans of the faculties.

The Council began its session by sending a congratulatory telegram to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the new presidential phase

Al-Numani said that the Council approved a number of important decisions, including setting the dates of the final exams, starting from Saturday, May 21, 2024. It also approved the appointment of assistant lecturers in the clinical departments of faculty of Medicine.

Al-Nomani explained that it was approved to adopt the program regulations (office information systems, a special program with expenses) according to the credit hour system at faculty of Arts, and approval was given to hold the first scientific conference for the faculty of Pharmacy at the end of October 2024, under the title “New Horizons for Pharmaceutical Sciences and Sustainable Pharmaceutical Development.”

The university president pointed out that, within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and the university, it was approved to establish a human rights unit at the university, an “administrative unit,” and its composition and work system were approved, and 20 bicycles were accepted as a donation from the Ministry of the Environment to the university, as part of the “Our Health in Our Planet” competition. “.

The university president added that the council agreed for the community service and environmental development sector to implement a number of awareness-raising convoys in villages where illegal immigration and human trafficking are widespread, in addition to implementing a number of awareness seminars for students within faculties about combating the situation of illegal immigration and human trafficking, in addition to approval to hold workshops entitled “Development of breeding methods for sohag sheep as a promising breed of sheep for breeding in Sohag and Upper Egypt, challenges and the future” during the month of next May.

It is worth noting that the Council approved the appointment of 2 staff members at faculty of Physical Education in the position of Assistant Professor, in addition to appointing 4 staff members in faculty of Medicine in the position of lecturer, in addition to approving the granting of doctoral degrees to 5 staff members in the faculties of Arts, Medicine, Science and Agriculture, and awarded master’s degrees to 15 staff members in the Faculties of Medicine, Education, Commerce, Archeology, Physical Education, Science and Arts.
