Sohag Faculty of Commerce organizes an educational seminar on proper nutrition and healthy food

The Faculty of Commerce at Sohag University organized an educational seminar entitled “Proper Nutrition and Healthy Food”, in the presence of Prof. Khaled Omran, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development,Prof. Muhammad Al-Saghir, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Dr. Ibrahim Abdel Hamid, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and a group of faculty members, in the central auditorium of the faculty on the new campus.

Prof. Hassan Al-Nomani, President of the University, said that the university is keen to implement such educational seminars to educate students in all fields, adding that the symposium dealt with a number of topics related to the basics of nutrition, macro and micronutrients, types of microbial contamination of food and its causes, chemical contamination of food, and the components of the food pyramid, which consists of graded groups of food, which each person must adhere to, to build a healthy body, and enjoy good health.

Prof. Khaled Omran added that the aim of the symposium is to raise awareness of the benefits of healthy eating to prevent diseases, as well as the impact of nutrition and the choice of foods to be eaten on sustainable development and healthy planning of meals, stressing that proper nutrition is an integral part of a healthy lifestyle, as the quality of food eaten is what affects a person’s life and health, which in turn controls his lifestyle.

Prof. Mohammed Al-Saghir explained that nearly 500 students participated in the symposium, where the symposium dealt with raising awareness of the importance of balanced and healthy food and preventing diseases by following an integrated diet.
