Providing new and advanced medical services and treating 861 Patients in the Interventional Radiology Unit at Sohag University Hospital within 5 months

Dr. Hassan Al-Noamany, President of Sohag University, stated that the Interventional Radiology Unit at the University Hospital is one of the units that provides new and advanced medical services, as it treated 861 medical cases during the past five months, from March to July, thanking all those in charge of the department for their efforts in providing Health care for patients to the fullest.

Al-Nomani explained that the interventional radiology unit has an elite group of qualified human cadres to perform catheterization and advanced therapeutic interventions using interventional radiology, which represents a distinguished medical service at the university hospital as an alternative to many traditional surgeries, adding that the unit performs the following interventions to treat cases of severe bleeding in the kidneys and liver and the intestines, treating tumors by closing the arteries that feed them or using thermal frequency, treating spinal and knee pain.

 

removing samples from various body tumors, withdrawing purulent or bloody fluid from different parts of the body, and treating obstructive jaundice.

Dr. Magdy Al-Qadi, Dean of faculty of Medicine, said that the unit also provides distinguished and advanced services, including cauterizing cancerous liver tumors using microwave technology without surgical intervention, in addition to thermal frequency technology, which is performed in the unit for cases of liver and uterine tumors, as well as bones, nerve plexus exploration, and hand surgery.
