Prof. Hassan Al-Nomany, President of Sohag University, praised the Egyptian state’s hosting of the World Urban Forum, which is organized by the Egyptian government in cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, under the slogan “Everything starts locally… let’s work together for sustainable cities and communities,” making it the first country to host it in Africa since 20 years, from November 4 to 8, with the participation of 30,000 people from 180 countries and high-level UN and international delegations, at Al Manara International Center of International Conferences.
Al-Noamany stressed that Egypt’s hosting of this global forum directs the world’s attention towards Egypt and its modern development experience under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, during which it achieved great results in implementing sustainable development in urban projects, stressing that the new administrative capital is one of the most important projects that have been initiated. The Egyptian state has been building over the past ten years to be one of the fourth generation cities, a prominent cultural achievement, and a source of pride for Egypt and the Egyptians, and embody the political leadership’s view of what the new republic will be like in the near future.
