Sohag University participated in the Huawei Egypt Higher Education Summit 2023, which was held under the slogan “Accelerating the Digital Journey of Higher Education”, under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of a group of information executives in Egyptian universities, and directors of academies of the Huawei International Academy in Egyptian universities, in one of the major hotels in Cairo.
Prof. Hassan Al-Nomani, President of the University, said that the university’s participation comes in implementation of the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the field of digital transformation, and the future vision of how to use modern technologies to develop higher education institutions and move towards sustainable smart universities, adding that this summit is an opportunity to explore the most important emerging technologies in the education industry, and enable industry elites, experts and partners to discuss the path of digital transformation, and trends in the development of information and communication technology in the education sector.
Dr. Mohamed Heshmat, Director of the Center for Electronic and Knowledge Services and Huawei Academy at the University, added that the Academy will continue to build an open, collaborative and shared platform, through which ideas can be exchanged with industry leaders, interact with education leaders to discuss Huawei innovations and ICT applications for the education sector, and identify more partners to establish an innovative ecosystem and partnership.
Eng. Nihal Al-Maghrabi, Executive Director of Huawei Academy at the university, explained that the activities of the summit included holding dialogue sessions to exchange innovative ideas in the field of higher education, encourage and support scientific research in the field of digital transformation, to transfer experiences and knowledge, and graduate a new generation of students with the ability to face the challenges of the labor market.
