Establishing a “Maternal and Fetal care” Unit at the Old University Hospital at a Cost of 3 Million Pounds

Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, announced that a “maternal and fetal care unit” had been established at the old university hospital, with the aim of caring of the health of the mother and fetus in high-risk pregnancies, at a cost of 3 million pounds.

Al-Nomani added that the unit is concerned with providing care and for the mother and fetus through continuous follow-up by highly specialized medical teams attached to the unit itself.

From his part, Dr. Magdy Al-Qadi, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, praised the support of Dr. Hassan Al-Nomani, President of the University, and his approval to purchase a 3D device for the unit at a cost of 1.9 million pounds, as it performs the process of imaging the fetus in 3D, which helps the doctor discover the smallest Congenital defects in the fetus or in the woman’s reproductive system

From his part, Dr. Salah Mohamed Rashid, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, said that the unit is a clinic specialized in fetal care and detecting congenital defects of fetuses inside the mother’s abdomen, as well as diagnosing congenital defects of the uterus and ovaries.

He explained that the unit includes a two-dimensional device costing one million pounds, equipped with modern technology software can receive case data
