The President of Sohag University commends the Political Leadership’s Interest in the Environment and Green Transformation during the Opening of the Third International Environmental Conference

Dr. Hassan El-Nomany, President of Sohag University, inaugurated the activities of the Third International Environmental Conference, which was organized by the Community Service and Environment Development Sector under the title “Green Transformation and Environmental Artificial Intelligence Applications”, at the International Conference Center at the university’s new headquarters, in the presence of Dr. Abdel Nasser Youssef, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr.

Khaled Omran, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Conference Chairman, Accountant Ashraf El-Qady, Secretary General of the University, and Dr. Sabah Saber, Conference Rapporteur.

At the beginning of his speech, Dr. Hassan Al-Nomany welcomed the distinguished attendees, thanking everyone who contributed to the implementation and organization of the conference activities and its success in a manner befitting the university’s name.

He emphasized the university’s keenness to organize the international environmental conference for the third consecutive year, due to the great interest the environment file receives from the political leadership, headed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic.

Praising the recent radical shift in concepts and work strategies witnessed by the environment sector, he placed it on the Egyptian government’s list of priorities to achieve sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030.

From his part, Dr. Khaled Omran expressed his thanks and appreciation to the university president for his constant and continuous support for all scientific activities organized by the sector, noting that this year’s conference discusses artificial intelligence applications and their role in achieving environmental sustainability. Environmental monitoring using satellites, in addition, he explained that integrating artificial intelligence into environmental protection opens promising prospects for achieving a balance between development and the preservation of natural resources, as artificial intelligence helps address environmental challenges and enables the monitoring of climate change and carbon emissions with high accuracy.

This will contribute to preserving biodiversity and developing renewable energy.

I hope the conference achieves its goals and produces effective recommendations that can be implemented on the ground.
