Sohag University Hospital saves Trauma Patients by performing a Complex Operation

Sohag University Emergency Hospital continues its success story in rescuing patients from various accidents.

A medical team successfully saved a 67-year-old woman who suffered several depressed fractures in her skull after being struck by an axe.

Dr. Hassan El-Nomany, President of Sohag University, emphasized that Sohag University Hospitals are not just medical facilities, but rather represent a turning point in the quality of healthcare services provided to the people of Upper Egypt, in line with the state’s efforts to improve healthcare and provide highly efficient treatment services.

Dr. Magdy El-Qady, Dean of the Faculty, explained that specialized medical and therapeutic services are provided free of charge to citizens.

He added that upon the arrival of the case, the Emergency Department was immediately notified, and the injured person was admitted to the operating room and given general anesthesia.

Dr. Ahmed Kamal, Executive Director of University Hospitals, added that a depressed skull fracture was removed and the dura mater was repaired.

A cerebral vena cava was repaired and bleeding was controlled while maintaining cerebral circulation.

He explained that the surgeries were performed by a highly skilled surgical team, and the patient is in good health and is currently receiving the necessary care at the hospital.
