Prof Hassan Al-Noamany, President of Sohag University, participated in the first meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Presidential Initiative “Alliance and Development”, in the presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education, and members of the Council, including academics, industrialists, representatives of government agencies, public figures, and ministry leaders.
Al-Nomany praised the importance of the Alliance and Development Initiative as it is the first of its kind at the level of the seven geographical regions in Egypt: (Cairo, Alexandria, Delta, Canal and Sinai, Central Upper Egypt Region, North Upper Egypt Region, and South Upper Egypt Region), which aims to unify the resources and capabilities of each geographical region to work on confronting the developmental and societal challenges facing this region.
Al-Noamany thanked President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his support of the initiative since its launch and his continuous follow-up of all steps of its implementation.
He also thanked Dr. Ayman Ashour for his efforts and launching the executive units of the alliances at the regional level, as part of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research.
Al-Nomany added that the Minister began the meeting by welcoming the council members, including academics, industry and business people, and public figures, for joining the council and their belief in effective participation in serving society and contributing a vital role in achieving development goals, and integration between different parties to unify energies which is the primary goal of the initiative.
