Dr. Hassan Al-Noamany, President of Sohag University, announced offering of 39 tons of certified bread wheat seeds of high-quality varieties (Sads 12, Gemmayze 11, and Gezira 171), and offered them for sale at Faculty of Agriculture’s products sales outlet at the old and new university campuses, explaining that the university seeks to perform its service and societal role and it is keen to support the state’s plan to provide strategic goods and contribute to providing food security.
Dr. Khalaf Hammam, Dean of the faculty, indicated that the cultivation of a number of important strategic crops has been expanded within the faculty’s farms, including wheat, which is one of the most important agricultural crops to which the state gives great importance, with the aim of increasing productivity and providing it in the markets to fill the food gap in society, adding that seeds is put on sale in the markets is genetically selected and technically improved
