Dr. Hassan Al-Nomany, President of Sohag University, stated that 5 new educational programs have been approved and activated in Faculty of Science of the credit hours system, namely the Molecular Biology and Parasitology Program, Mathematical Statistics and Programming, Molecular Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and the Medical Biophysics Program, for studying in the new academic year 2023. 2024.
Al-Numany explained that the new programs being activated in the faculties come within the framework of the comprehensive development system pursued by the university, in its orientation towards renewing and developing educational systems, achieving quality and competitive advantage for the university, explaining that these distinguished study programs are compatible with the needs of the local and international labor market and allow students have the opportunity to choose the academic major that best suits them.
Dr. Hazem Al-Mushanab, Dean of the faculty, said that the duration of study in the five programs is 136 credit hours in each program, adding that the Molecular Biology and Parasitology program qualifies for job opportunities in scientific bodies, the Academy of Scientific Research, medical laboratories, criminal research, vaccines, serums, and IVF laboratories, as for the Mathematical Statistics and Programming program. It offers job opportunities in the faculties and universities (researcher and teaching), and in statistical research centers (as a statistical analyst) in programming companies (as a computer programmer), in the field of information security, the Meteorological Authority, and working in companies and banks (as a statistical analyst), in addition to the molecular biotechnology program, which provides job opportunities in companies that manufacture vaccines, serums, and medicines, and industrial companies that produce chemicals, proteins, And fiber, and vitamins, and as inspection machines for food industries, the forensic Medicine Authority, biopharmaceutical factories and the Environmental Affairs Agency.
