Al-Nomany: The Supreme Council of Universities decides to implement the Learn Healthily and 100 Days of Sports initiatives starting from the new academic year.
Dr. Hassan Al-Noamany, President of Sohag University, participated in the meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, headed by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Council and members of the Council, at the branch of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Transport in Alamein City.
Al-Numany said that the Minister of Higher Education directed the readiness of laboratories in the universities throughout the period of electronic coordination in its various stages, and to provide technical support by providing qualified advisors to assist students in a way that ensures facilitation for them throughout the coordination period, and the readiness of university hospitals to receive new students and conduct the necessary medical examinations before their enrollment in the universities.
Al-Nomany added that Dr. Ayman Ashour also directed the continuation of the universities’ efforts to welcome the new academic year 2024/2025, and to complete all maintenance work for the buildings, auditoriums, classrooms, laboratories, and university hostels, and to ensure the presence of safety and security means in all university facilities.

He asked that universities to participate in the “Learn Healthily” initiative to evaluate the physical competency of all new students at the university, through the participation of university hospitals and student hospitals.
The initiative aims to conduct a field study of physical competency and benefit from the results in improving the competency and general health of students through health awareness and guidance and clinical advice based on sound evaluation, and if the program is successful for first-year students, the idea will be gradually circulated to students of other years at the university, in implementation of the initiative to support the Egyptian citizen under the name (A New Beginning for Building Humanity) for a period of 100 days, with the participation of many ministries
