Prof. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, participated in the workshop organized by the Supreme Council of Universities and the British Council under the title “Internationalization in Egyptian Universities, Objectives and Possibilities,” in which Professor John McGovern, Higher Education Advisor to the British Council in Cairo, lectured, in the presence of Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council, Dr. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister for Strategic Planning, Training and Qualification for the Labor Market, and a number of university presidents, in one of the major hotels in Cairo.
Al-Numani said that these workshops contribute to exchanging experiences and benefiting from the experiences of others by building new partnerships with international educational institutions, to apply internationalization effectively in different educational contexts, which enhances the quality of education and helps achieve the goals of internationalization, noting that promoting internationalization also helps in Improving the international ranking of universities, as it can raise the level of academic competitiveness globally by applying international educational standards and building a distinguished academic reputation.
It is worth noting that the lecture delivered by Professor John McGovern, Higher Education Advisor at the British Council in Cairo, addressed: Ways to internationalize higher education, setting goals and examining the possibility of achieving them, including developing study programs and the possibility of establishing partnerships between Egyptian and British universities; to create joint programs for postgraduate studies and scientific research of common interest, exchange experiences between the staff members and researchers, and review the current partnerships existing between Egyptian universities and British universities.
