Sohag University participates in the Governorate Meeting to discuss a Number of Topics Related to Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises

Sohag University participated in the meeting held by the governorate to discuss a number of issues related to owners of small, medium and micro enterprises, in the presence of Dr. Khaled Omran, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Sami Al-Qadi, Deputy Governor of Sohag, and Representative Ghada Al-Dabaa, Member of the House of Representatives, and Nader Abdel-Zaher, head of the Sohag Enterprise Development Authority, Ahmed Al-Shatouri, head of the West Sohag district, and a number of representatives of the Investor Service Department, the local implementation unit, and the technical committee for monitoring technological centers.

Prof. Hassan Al-Noamany, President of the University, confirmed that Sohag University, with its expertise and scientific standings, is an essential partner in the development process taking place on the governorate’s land in various fields, pointing to the governorate’s keenness to seek assistance from the university’s scientific expertise in implementing all projects, as the governorate has 14 consultants from Faculty members from the university to provide consultations in various specializations, such as providing engineering consultations necessary to plan, implement and supervise projects, stressing the university’s full readiness to harness all its capabilities to contribute to the implementation of all projects.

Dr. Khaled Omran said that the meeting discussed developing an integrated vision for economic activities in the governorate, in cooperation with the university, such as supporting the craft industries that Sohag is famous for, such as “Al-Tali,” and choosing one of the villages that is distinguished by these industries to focus on and develop it into a productive village, as a model that can be applied to the rest of the villages within the governorate, in addition to studying the restructuring of the industrial zone in the Al-Kawthar neighborhood, especially after raising its efficiency and identifying unexploited lands, and a feasibility study from the university; to establish industries with a competitive advantage that the governorate enjoys, adding that there is a cooperation protocol between the university and the Small, Medium and Micro Enterprise Development Agency in this regard.
