Major General Tariq Al-Feki, Governor of Sohag, Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, and Colonel Mohamed Kamal, Director of the Decent Life Office in the governorate, honored the volunteers of the Decent Life Foundation in the governorate, in appreciation of their efforts in 2023, during the celebratory activities organized by the Decent Life Foundation in cooperation with Students for Egypt at the university, in the presence of the Deputy Governor, Vice Presidents of the University, deans of faculties, the head of the Students for Egypt team, a number of staff members and students, and a group of executive and popular leaders in the governorate and representatives of civil society, at the International Conference Center in the new campus.
At the beginning of his speech, Major General Tariq Al-Feki extended his sincere thanks to the political leadership, which pays great attention to the implementation of the Decent Life Initiative through continuous and periodic follow-up of all projects and overcoming all obstacles facing their implementation in order to improve the services provided to citizens in the targeted villages, and provide them with a decent life in all aspects, in advance.
He also thanked all the volunteers in the initiative for their efforts and sense of social responsibility
towards their homeland, adding that Sohag Governorate has the largest share in the initiative, as the first phase included 7 centers: Tama, Al-Balina, Maragha, Saqalta, Girga, Dar Al-Salam, and Al-Mansha in 188 villages, and 1,123 hamlets and villages.
More than 4 million beneficiaries benefited from it, including projects in the fields of health, sanitation, drinking water, education, sports, and other development aspects.
Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani began his speech by thanking President Sisi for launching “Decent Life” initiative, which contributed to changing the face of life in the Egyptian countryside, especially in Sohag Governorate.
This idea that Alsisi adopted is not only to improve the living conditions and daily life of the Egyptian citizen in the most favored villages
Al-Noamany stressed that Sohag University and its youth are a key partner in the efforts made by Decent Life Initiative in the governorate, and played a prominent and effective role in implementing the initiative in order to achieve development goals, which reflects the extent of its strong commitment to achieving the vision of the presidential initiative, as the university was keen to absorb youth energies from through their participation in all volunteer work in the initiative, the university also implemented approximately 20 awareness seminars for students to spread the culture of volunteer work in decent life projects, in addition to organizing 50 medical convoys and 45 veterinary convoys for examination and treatment for free
distribution of food supplies and electrical appliances to families in need of care and securing their basic needs.
A Decent Life with the aim of coordinating the organization’s activities within the university, and providing students with the opportunity to volunteer and learn about those activities and projects that take place on the ground.
Colonel Mohamed Kamal explained that this humanitarian initiative launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, achieved the impossible in Sohag Governorate, as the governorate witnessed comprehensive change, with the launch of many projects in various sectors, and provided a decent life for its citizens.
He extended his thanks to Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of the University, for his support.
Alnomany also thanked all the volunteers who contributed to the implementation of this initiative, describing them as “brave people,” stressing that no achievement can be achieved without unknown soldiers standing behind it, working to make it successful.
