Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, held the regular meeting No. (130) of the University Facilities Committee, in the presence of Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Khaled Omran, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the accountant Ashraf Al-Qadi, Secretary-General of the University, and Dr. Atef. Muhammad, the university’s structural consultant, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Rahim, Dean of faculty of Technology and Education, Engineer Hussein Mohamedin, Director General of the Engineering Department, Dr. Ahmed Jalal, Assistant Secretary-General, legal and financial affairs officials, and a number of engineering management officials.
Dr. Hassan Al-Numani said that the committee has an important role in studying the modern specifications of university facilities and recommending what it deems appropriate to apply to existing projects, in addition to studying the faculties’ suggestions for new facilities, or requests submitted regarding conducting maintenance work on old facilities.
The committee is also specialized in developing plans. for maintenance of university facilities and buildings.
Engineer Hussein Mohamadeen explained that the meeting discussed a number of topics on the agenda, where engineering management reports were reviewed regarding the executive position of the projects being worked on and the percentage of completion for each project, adding that the financial claims and dues that must be paid for each project were discussed, in addition to looking at memorandums submitted regarding assigning the work of a number of construction projects to specialized contracting companies, whether by acceptance, rejection or postponement, indicating that the University President directed the rapid completion of existing projects with continuous follow-up and the submission of a detailed report about the completion rates for each of them.
