Prof. Hassan Al-Noaman, President of Sohag University, witnessed the activities of the fourth conference of Department of Ear, Nose, and Throat at Faculty of Medicine, with the participation of a group of ENT professors from various Egyptian universities, and in the presence of Prof. Magdy El-Kady, Dean of the faculty, and Prof. Abdel-Mateen Moussa, former President of South Valley University, and President of Sohag University and honorary guests for the conference were Prof. Mohamed Abdel Qader, head of the department and president of the conference, Dr. Sami Al-Najjar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sohag, Dr. Mohamed Hassan, director of Health Insurance in the Governorate, Dr. Ibrahim Rizk, Secretary-General of the Conference, and a group of professors and specialists from Egyptian universities, in the glass hall of the old campus.
Al-Noman also welcomed Prof. Abdul-Mateen Musa, founder of Faculty of Medicine and former president of South Valley University, for his efforts serve the university in general and the Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Ear and Nose in particular, appreciating the role of the staff members in the department and its specialized units in community service and scientific research, and providing medical and therapeutic services to the citizens inside and outside the governorate
The department has also achieved a great accomplishment in ending the waiting lists, as it has performed more than 700 cochlear implant operations in 5 years.
Prof. Magdy Al-Qadi, the dean of the faculty explained that the activities of the first day of the conference include a workshop on how to deal with emergency cases related to the ENT department, such as cases of swallowing or inhaling a foreign body and cases of severe bleeding.
This workshop aims to train and educate young doctors from the hospitals of the Ministry of Health and Health Insurance and raise their competence in order to provide better medical service to patients.
