Prof. Hassan Al-Noamani, the President of the University, held a research meeting with the delegation of the University of Oldenburg in Germany, to discuss signing a medical cooperation protocol to establish a unit specialized in conducting comprehensive scanning tests for early detection and treatment of hearing impairment and loss in newborn children at the university hospital, in the presence of Ambassador Khaled Galal, Egyptian Ambassador in Germany, Stephen Al-Bani, Member of the German Parliament in Berlin, Wolf Schmidt with the Rotary International Group in Germany, and Dr. Rodger Schnofeld at the Audiology Center, where the meeting was held via Zoom technology, in the university president’s office in the old campus.
Al-Noamani confirmed that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi,the President of the Republic, launched many important health initiatives and programs for children in Egypt, in order to provide them with a healthy and safe life, including audiological scanning for early detection and treatment of hearing loss in newborns, as part of the “100 Million” initiative which targets all newborns, stressing that this protocol comes within the framework of Sohag University’s keenness to participate positively in presidential initiatives and to contribute to the advancement of the health sector, which has witnessed a real boom and unprecedented support during the past ten years.
