The activities of the first day of the Sixth

Environmental Week at Sohag University, which is organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, was launched from 5 to 9 March, under the slogan “Together for green and sustainable development.” This was stated by Prof. Mostafa Abdel-Khalek, the president of the university, said that this week aims to highlight the university’s role towards the environment, clarifying its efforts to preserve it, in addition to spreading environmental awareness among students, and promoting positive trends to combat the Facing challenges environmental problems also to provide an integrated healthy environment that contributes to achieving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030.

Prof. Khaled Omran, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, explained that the week includes a variety of scientific and educational activities, in addition to a group of seminars and awareness lectures in various fields, which are lectured by specialized professors from inside and outside the university, adding that the activities of the first day began with an opening ceremony. This was followed by a lecture entitled “Outcomes of the 27th Summit of the Parties and the University’s Role in Activating Nature-Based Solutions to Confront Climate Change.”
