Coinciding with the Opening of Shifa Children’s Hospital… Sohag University receives a Dutch Grant of 65 million Egyptian pounds to support the Latest Physical Therapy Unit for Children with Disabilities

As part of the final preparations for the official launch of Shifa Children’s University Hospital, a gift from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the children of Upper Egypt, Sohag University Hospitals announced the receipt of a medical grant from the Dutch Stichting Achet Foundation worth 65 million pounds, it includes the latest specialized medical equipment and supplies, in support of the healthcare system provided to children, especially children with disabilities.

In this context, Dr. Hassan Al-Nu’many, President of Sohag University, inspected the equipment, which includes the establishment of a fully equipped pediatric physiotherapy department, the most modern of its kind within university hospitals, and equipped with the latest medical technologies, which contributes to providing advanced rehabilitation services for children with physical and intellectual disabilities.

He added that this grant comes as part of an integrated support package from the Dutch Foundation worth £200 million.

Al-Nu’many expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, headed by Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, for the full support in facilitating the procedures for accepting the medical grant. He also expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Egyptian Drug Authority and all concerned parties. Because of the speed of response and coordination it demonstrated, it contributed to the completion of the necessary technical and legal procedures.
