Dr. Hassan El-Nomany, President of Sohag University, emphasized that this is in implementation of President Sisi’s directives to enhance awareness and national belonging among university students, and to familiarize them with the capabilities and potential of our armed forces and their efforts to secure all strategic axes to raise awareness of the challenges facing our great nation, the university organizes a number of field visits for students to military bases and the country’s most important strategic sites, affirming their complete confidence in the Egyptian army and its ability to protect the nation.Al-Nomany said that the university conducted a field visit to Mohamed Naguib Military Base in El Hammam town, Matrouh Governorate.
Dr. Khaled Omran, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, praised the warm welcome and meticulous organization of the visit, which reflects the professionalism of the Egyptian Armed Forces.
He explained that during the visit, the delegation initially listened to a briefing on the history of the base and its pivotal role in protecting national security, in addition to a presentation of its achievements since its opening.
The various specializations and units within the base were also identified, such as infantry, armored, and air defense units, highlighting the diversity of missions undertaken.
Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Safwat, Director of the Military Education Department at the university, stated that the students were given an exceptional opportunity to experience a full day in the life of a fighter.
They watched training sessions on the latest weapons and learned about the advanced technology used by the armed forces, in addition to watching sporting performances that showcased the strength and discipline of the armed forces.
Dr. Ahmed Atef, Director of Youth Welfare, added that the visit was attended by 50 male and female students from various faculties, along with staff members.
He noted that the base is not limited to military training alone, but also contributes to raising the efficiency of officers and soldiers through joint training with armies from friendly countries.
