A delegation from Sohag University participated in the third edition of the International Conference on Climate and Environment 2025, on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The delegation attended the opening session of the conference, which was held at the League of Arab States and organized by Nile University in cooperation with the Engineers of a Sustainable Egypt Foundation.
Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, inaugurated the event on behalf of the Prime Minister, and Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, in the presence of Dr. Nazir Ayad, Grand Mufti of the Republic, and Mr. Amr Moussa, former Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, Climate Champion and Conference Chair (via video conference), Dr. Mahmoud Fathallah, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for Environmental Affairs at the League of Arab States, and Dr. Wael Akl, President of Nile University.
Dr. Hassan Al-Nomany, President of the University, said that the university participated the next day with student projects in the field of sustainable development, as the university’s participation came as a major supporter of the conference and exhibition in the light of the presidential directives to pay attention to climate and sustainable development.
The delegation participated with student projects from Faculties of Agriculture, Engineering and Commerce under the supervision of Dr. Abdel-Aleem Saad Suleiman, Head of the Plant Protection Department.
Sohag University was honored with the conference shield, and the university president was thanked for his support of the conference and exhibition, including his active participation in addressing the most crucial issues facing humanity today: climate change.
