In the presence of the Minister of Higher Education… Al-Nomany participates in the Meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities at Hurghada University

Dr. Hassan El-Noamany, President of Sohag University, participated in the regular meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, held on Saturday, at the headquarters of Hurghada University.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and attended by Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Council, and members of the Council.

Al-Nomany said that the Council began its session by congratulating the President of the Republic, the Armed Forces, and the Egyptian people on the occasion of the anniversary of the liberation of Sinai.

The Council thanked the President for his support for the higher education system in Sinai, which has witnessed an unprecedented renaissance over the past ten years in the establishment of public, private, and technological universities and the provision of modern academic programs that address Sinai’s development needs, with a total investment of 23 billion pounds.

Al-Nomany explained that the Minister of Higher Education has directed universities and institutes to prepare for the second semester exams of the current academic year, to promptly announce exam schedules by faculties well in advance, and to intensify awareness campaigns for the university students about the challenges facing national security by holding seminars and hosting national figures from all fields to raise students’ awareness of these challenges.

The Minister also directed efforts to strengthen Egypt’s role as an attractive destination for students wishing to study at the Egyptian universities, in addition to increasing attention to students with disabilities and supporting their talents and abilities to enhance their participation in university life.

The Minister also directed the establishment of a central unit within the Ministry of Higher Education to coordinate with all universities to follow up the integration of students with disabilities into university life.

Dr. Ayman Ashour also emphasized the importance of attracting the international students, considering it a priority in the ministry’s action plan to enhance Egypt’s role as an attractive destination for students seeking to study at Egyptian universities.

Al-Nomany added that the Council reviewed a report on the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s most prominent activities during the current month of April, and Dr. Ayman Ashour highlighted the historic visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Cairo University.
