With the attendance of 4,000 Male and Female Students, Mawaddah Project Seminar Series continues at the Faculties of Technology and Education, Sports Sciences, Agriculture, and Archaeology at Sohag University

Sohag University continues to hold a series of seminars and workshops for the national project to preserve the Egyptian family entity “Mawadda,” within the framework of the ongoing and joint cooperation between the Ministries of Higher Education and Social Solidarity.

The second training workshop, titled “The Last Chance,” has been completed.

Dr. Hassan El-Nomany, President of the University, praised the efforts of the Ministry of Social Solidarity to raise  the awareness of theEgyptian family issues and its ongoing cooperation with the University. He extended his thanks to all deans and vice deans of the faculties, as well as to the staff members and students participating in the training program “Affection,” .He asked the university students to benefit from the program’s themes, which will play an effectiverole in shaping their futures and raising the  awareness of the importance of following the principles of proper marriage.

Dr. Abdel Nasser Youssef, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, added that the workshop included several topics, including educating young people about misconceptions about marriage, learning how to create compatibility between the two parties (the mechanism – the means), and raising the awareness and learning about the program for those who are about to get married.

In addition, the concept of marriage, its objectives, and the positive and negative effects of delayed marriage were defined, in addition to setting criteria for choosing a life partner and the considerations associated with determining marriage (customs and traditions, financial status, health status, psychological status, and social status).

Dr. Sahar Hashem, the project coordinator at the university, indicated that approximately 4,000 male and female students participated in the seminars, adding that the series of seminars is being completed in the remaining faculties of the university, which discuss various topics including legal, psychological and social aspects, reproductive health and others, the foundations of positive parenting, In health aspects related to family life, the importance of medical examinations for those intending to marry, the positive effects of spacing births, mechanisms for early detection of genetic diseases, and methods of dealing with children with various disabilities.

Dr. Intisar Abu Al-Dahab, Director of the Cultural and Artistic Activities Department at the Central Youth Care General Administration, stated that the training sessions also addressed the most important human values, religious and legal concepts related to marriage, and how to support these values ​​within the family.

These training sessions come within the framework of developing the interactive training guide for Mawaddah Project and to

promote all concepts related to combating gender-based violence, integrate persons with disabilities, and discuss various issues related to them in various project activities.
