The Third International Environmental Conference at Sohag University begins its Scientific Sessions and discusses More than 30 Scientific Papers

Sohag University organized a number of scientific sessions as part of the activities of the Third International Environmental Conference, organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, under the title “Green Transformation and Environmental Artificial Intelligence Applications.” The conference was held at the International Conference Center at the university’s new headquarters.

Dr. Hassan Al-Nomany, President of the University, explained that the conference witnessed distinguished participation from the staff members, researchers, and specialists from inside and outside the university, in addition to the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Environment and a number of officials from civil society institutions.

He explained that the third edition of the conference highlights the global interest in artificial intelligence applications and their role in achieving environmental sustainability, in addition to discussing all that is new in the field of satellites and environmental monitoring

to monitor technological developments in the environmental data analysis and natural disaster prediction, to address environmental challenges and mitigate climate change, in order to preserve the environment and its natural resources, and achieve the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030.

Dr. Khaled Omran, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, said that the conference included a number of scientific sessions during which the staff members and researchers presented important research topics that exceeded 30 working papers in the basic Sciences sector, the first session was chaired by Dr. Hussein Abdel Hafez and Dr. Diaa Rashwan.

The second session was chaired by Dr. Osama Hassan Abu Shama, Dr. Khalaf Hammam, Dr. Moamen Abdel Aziz, and Dr. Ahmed Abdel Karim, as well as the medical sector session, chaired by Dr. Ghani Abdel Nasser and Dr. Allam Abdel Moneim, adding that the engineering, computer and artificial intelligence sector session,

It was chaired by Dr. Ahmed Qasim, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Rahim, and Dr. Ahmed Montaser, while the Humanities session was chaired by Dr. Mohamed El Sagheer, Dr. Lamia Abu Zeid, and Dr. Hussein Taha.

Dr. Sabah Saber pointed out that the conference also included scientific lectures, the most important of which was climate change in light of technological applications of artificial intelligence, presented by human medicine students from the Samsa family, and another lecture titled “Leadership and Excellence of Sohag University in the International ranking of Sustainable Green Universities.”

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Hamdy Hassanein, former Dean of Faculty of Environmental Studies, along with a general lecture on environmental artificial intelligence applications by Dr. Ahmed Abdel Hakim, Vice Dean of Faculty of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.
