The President of Sohag University receives a committee at the Supreme Council of Universities to activate the programs of protected agriculture technology and agricultural engineering and biological systems at the Faculty of Agriculture

Prof. Hassan Al-Nomani, President of Sohag University, received members of the Agricultural Sciences Sector of the Supreme Council of Universities, which included Prof. Nazmi Abdel Hamid Abdel Ghani, former Vice President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Mahmoud Abdel Mohsen Hassan, former Vice President of Suez Canal University, and in the presence of Prof. Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Khalaf Hammam, Dean of the Faculty.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the University welcomed the members of the committee, which includes in its membership a group of professors and prestigious scientific figures, explaining that the aim of the visit is to inspect the committee for the material and human resources of the Faculty of Agriculture to activate the programs of protected agriculture technology and agricultural engineering and biological systems, stressing the university’s keenness to develop its programs and courses and add new programs to keep pace with the labor market locally and internationally.

Prof. Abdel Nasser Yassin pointed out that the educational and research services provided by the university to keep pace with the latest educational systems, in order to develop the service provided by the university to its students and to the external community, in order to achieve the sustainable development goals in light of Egypt’s Vision 2030.

Prof. Khalaf Hammam stated that the committee reviewed the regulations of the two programs and approved both, while expressing approval for the adoption of the protected crops technology program to activate it and start studying it, as the program depends on providing comprehensive and detailed academic and applied curricula in a simplified manner and free of any complications on current agricultural issues, using their scientific knowledge to improve production and protect the environment, and this program also provides modern practical knowledge in the fields of plant production, plant health or care management, as well as water conservation.
