Dr. Hassan Al-Noamany, President of Sohag University, announced that the University’s Center of Sustainable Development announces the beginning of applying for the fifth batch of the “Be an Ambassador” initiative for sustainable development, which is organized by the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, for those who wish to apply and meet the conditions to participate in the training, in order to spread the culture of sustainability and the goals of Egypt’s Vision 2030 for sustainable development.
Al-Nomany praised such important initiatives for the university employees to join the university’s team of sustainability ambassadors from previous batches of graduates, and to be ambassadors for spreading the concepts of sustainable development among their peers and in their communities, which brings public benefit to everyone and contributes to reducing climate change and implementing the concepts of the national policy for going green and sustainable innovation, which was recently launched by Dr. Muhammad Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Dr. Khaled Omran, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, added that the nomination conditions for applicants include that the applicant’s age should be from 18 to 40 years, and proficiency in the English language.
It is preferable that the applicant participate in some volunteer activities or student activities at the university, in addition to having a general background on sustainable development and its importance, and that he must also be university students, employees, young researchers, or a graduate with a high qualification.
Dr. Hamdy Hassanein, Director of the University’s Center of Sustainable Development, explained that the applicant must record a video clip of not more than three minutes that includes answers to the following questions:
1- Introduce yourself, explaining your academic and practical qualifications (English language for the first question only).
2- What is your main goal for joining the initiative and what will you offer to your community after passing the training program?
