Sohag University President signs a Cooperation Protocol with Banque Misr Foundation

Dr. Hassan Al-Noamany signs a coopertaion protocol with Eng. Essam El-Wakeel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Banque Misr Foundation for Community Development, and Chairman of the Board of Directors

to support and furnish Shifa Children’s Hospital as a gift from President Sisi to the children of Upper Egypt, in the presence of Dr. Magdy El-Kady, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Ahmed Kamal, Director of the University Hospital.

Al-Noamany stressed that Shifa Children’s Hospital is a success formula for the cooperation and effort of the Egyptian state, led by President Sisi, to create this new medical edifice to be added to the Egyptian health map.

During his visit to Sohag University, directed that its assets and subsequent land be transferred to the ownership of the university, to be included in the health system at the university’s hospitals, as it is the largest medical complex for children in the republic, with a total cost of the project exceeding one billion and 180 million pounds.

Al-Noamany stressed that operating the hospital has become an urgent necessity to provide medical services, so the university seeks to encourage partnerships and cooperation between the various sectors of Egyptian society to contribute to the start of the medical furnishings and equipment work in preparation for its inclusion in the presidential openings to provide therapeutic services to the children of Upper Egypt governorates. He praised the ongoing cooperation with the Banque Misr Foundation to support Sohag University Hospitals and the university’s medical sector in general, which contributed to creating a real breakthrough in providing health care to those who deserve it.

Al-Noamany explained that, in accordance with the signed protocol, the Bank of Egypt also contributed to equipping two operating rooms in the operating ward of the university hospitals, and supported the cost of purchasing medical devices at a total cost of 9 and a half million, in order to provide distinguished medical service to patients who are incapable, and to support the state’s plans to provide the best health care for the Egyptian citizen.

Dr. Magdy Al-Qadi said that the university administration is constantly keen to improve the quality of medical services provided to citizens, implement expansions, raise capacity, and provide all medical supplies and equipment to keep pace with the latest international medical standards, appreciating the National Bank of Egypt’s pioneering role in supporting the education and health sectors.

Dr. Ahmed Kamal added that Banque Misr Foundation for Community Development had equipped two operating rooms inside the specialized surgery building at the old university hospital, adding that this support included equipping all medical equipment for the operating rooms, such as the operating table and operating light, anesthesia devices, monitor devices, and two diathermy devices.
