Dr. Hassan Al-Nomani, President of Sohag University, received a delegation from the Project Evaluation and Follow-up Committee of the United States Agency for International Development (AMIDEAST), which included Dr. Abdel Hamid Mahmoud Lotfy, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Selim, Ayman Ahmed Al-Husseini, and Dr. Tariq Zaki, Director of the Service Center for Students with Disabilities at the university, at the university’s headquarters.
Al-Nomani explained that in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to provide all facilities for people with disabilities, the university is keen to provide services to support students with disabilities and integrate them into all fields, activities and events, explaining that the aim of the visit is to determine the feasibility of establishing a student service center. People with disabilities and those who benefit from this project at the level of students with disabilities, university employees, and civil society, in accordance with the cooperation protocol with the American AMIDEAST organization.
Al-Nomani added that the center was equipped according to the latest engineering specifications of the Accessibility Code, and linked to an integrated system of the Internet to enable students with disabilities to use computers provided by the Authority, and to work in a planned and purposeful manner to raise the degree of awareness among university employees about the issue of disability, stressing the strength of the human relationship between Students with disabilities and all university employees come together to support and support them, integrate and empower them in all events, activities and conferences, especially in light of the presence of specialized academic human cadres at the university, which qualifies the center to meet the needs of students with disabilities in a sustainable and high-quality manner.
