Dr. Hassan El-Nomany, President of Sohag University, inaugurated the first student conference of Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine and Surgery, attended by a select group of medical education leaders in Egypt.
The conference was held in the glass-enclosed celebration hall in the old campus.
The event was attended by Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Islam Amer, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Ahmed Gaber and Dr. Alaa Ghaleb, Vice Deans of the Faculty, Dr. Khaled Abu El Fadl, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Cairo University, Dr. Khaled Siddiq, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Badr University, Dr. Ayman Abdel Jalil, Head of the Dentists Syndicate in the Governorate, Dr. Dafer El Serag, President of the Egyptian Dentists Association, and a group of dentists in the Governorate.
Dr. Hassan Al-Nomany expressed his great happiness at the convening of the first scientific conference of the faculty, a promising faculty that was inaugurated several months ago and has, in a short period of time, taken significant steps towards excellence.
He praised the efforts of those in charge of the faculty in developing the educational process and organizing this important conference, noting that these efforts embody the university’s vision of providing distinguished medical education that serves the local community.
Al-Nomany also expressed his pride in the progress achieved by the faculty in terms of infrastructure and academic content.
The university aspires to graduate cadres capable of competing locally and internationally, as part of its commitment to supporting students and developing their scientific and research skills.
He also announced the imminent opening of the Dental Hospital, which has been designed and equipped with the latest equipment and technologies, to be a strong addition to the educational process and provide comprehensive treatment services to the people of the governorate.
Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin said that this student conference is an important platform for showing the students’ creativity and keeping pace with developments in their fields of specialization.
He emphasized that such events enhance students’ university experience, prepare them for the job market, and provide them with a comprehensive experience that combines academic achievement with activities that develop their personality and skills.
Dr. Islam Amer expressed his thanks and appreciation to the university administration, led by Dr. Hassan Al-Nomany, President of the University, for their continuous and unlimited support to the faculty.

This conference serves as a vital platform to enable enlightened, conscious minds to present proposals and innovations.
It contributes to addressing the challenges facing dentists and supports the development of this vital field.
The conference will feature five scientific papers presented by students, along with a series of specialized lectures on the applications of artificial intelligence in various fields of dentistry.
At the end of the conference, Al-Nomany honored the top ranking students, distinguished academic departments at the faculty, and everyone who contributed to the faculty’s completion and opening this year, including professors, staff members from the various dental faculties at the university, and various university departments. The conference also included an introductory video about the faculty, prepared by the university’s media center.
