Al-Nu’many: The university is keen to strengthen regional alliances to implement higher education and scientific research strategy and achieve comprehensive development.
Al-Nu’many: We seek to build strong development alliances with the universities in Upper Egypt that embody integration among higher education institutions.
President of Merit University: Many thanks to the prestigious Sohag University, which has opened up broad avenues for scientific and academic cooperation.
Dr. Hassan Al-Nu’many, President of Sohag University, received Dr. Sawsan Abdel Hamid Morsi, President of Merit University, and Dr. Nabil Nour El-Din, former President of Sohag University and Vice President of Merit University, to sign a number of scientific and academic cooperation agreements.
In accordance with and implementation of the recommendations of the “South Upper Egypt Universities Alliance Conference,” and in the presence of Dr. Magdy El-Qadi, Dean of Faculty of Medicine.
During the meeting, Al-Nu’many praised the cooperation with Merit University, the first newly established private university in the governorate, stressing that the university administration is keen to strengthen regional alliances to implement the higher education and scientific research strategy and achieve comprehensive development and Egypt’s Vision 2030, in addition to the university’s endeavor to build strong development alliances with universities in Upper Egypt.
This embodies the integration between higher education and scientific research institutions, noting that concluding such agreements enhances and supports academic and training cooperation between governmental, private and community universities in the region, and raises the efficiency of the educational and research system, hoping that the agreements will achieve the common goals and objectives between the two parties.
From her part, Dr. Sawsan Abdel Hamid expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to the President of the University for his keenness to extend bridges of communication and cooperation with various higher education institutions, and to provide all aspects of assistance and support to improve and develop the educational system and raising the scientific and training level of university students, by providing a distinguished educational and training environment for its students, praising the fruitful and distinguished cooperation with the prestigious Sohag University, between the two faculties of medicine at the two universities.
Dr. Nabil Nour El-Din said that a number of cooperation agreements were concluded between the two faculties of medicine, as the first protocol stipulated the training of resident doctors at Faculty of Medicine at Merit University within the university hospitals in Sohag as a visiting resident doctor.
The second protocol also stipulated that students at Faculty of Medicine at Merit University would be trained in the university’s Faculty of Medicine hospitals.
