Sohag University received a delegation from Woosung University of Korea, as part of the activation of the cooperation protocol signed between the two universities to enhance the aspects of academic and research partnership between the two sides, as part of the university’s keenness to expand its network of international relations, and to enhance strategic partnerships with prestigious international universities.
Dr. Hassan Al-Nu’many, the university president, said that the visit is the beginning of executing the procedures for activating the joint cooperation protocol, which was signed with Dr. Deog-Seong Oh, president of President Emeritus University, Woosong, Korea, at the university’s headquarters in South Korea, with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations between the two universities and developing the opportunities for the academic exchange in the fields of teaching, scientific research and other joint activities.
Al-Nu’many added that working groups from both universities have been formed to develop and implement an executive plan for the proposed programs in the fields of artificial intelligence, providing specialized training for students in the Railway Technology program at faculty of Technology and Education, and launching training courses offered by Wosong University in the field of cosmetology, the university is also exploring the possibility of establishing a branch of Woosong University within Sohag University, as well as facilitating staff and student exchanges and joint research project
Dr. Ashraf Akasha, Director of the International Relations Center at the university, stated that Dr. Kalu Ibn, Director of International Relations at the Korean university, conducted an inspection tour of several faculties. The visit included faculty of Engineering and faculty of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Technology and Education, where he was briefed on the laboratories, classrooms and modern equipment, and expressed his admiration for the remarkable development the university has witnessed in its infrastructure and educational capabilities, which opens new horizons for students and researchers, and supports the position of the two universities at the regional and international levels.
