Dr. Hassan Al-Nomani, President of Sohag University, stated that a medical team in the Maxillofacial Surgery and Head and Neck Oncology Unit at the New University Hospital succeeded in saving the life of the young man, \u201cA.F.\u201d, who was 45 years old.<\/p>\n
He was subjected to 10 separate stab wounds in the neck and back, and bleeding in the neck.<\/p>\n
Al-Nomani added that immediately the doctors of the reception and emergency department did what the injured person\u2019s condition required, including resuscitation and preliminary medical procedures to control the bleeding, until he was urgently admitted to the operating room, where the young man underwent several delicate and dangerous surgeries, in cooperation between the doctors of the Maxillofacial Surgery Unit. And head and neck tumors, rhinoplasty, and the ear, nose and throat and anesthesia departments, adding that the patient was discharged from the operating room in good condition to the internal department, where he receives the necessary post-operative care.<\/p>\n
Dr. Magdy Al-Qadi, Dean of Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, explained that the case was immediately saved and emergency first aid was administered to revive the injured person, and the specialties concerned with the case were summoned and the necessary rumors were made, as a result of which it became clear that the injured person was suffering from a penetrating stab wound to the neck, which resulted in the death of… A cut in the esophagus, bleeding, blood pooling in the neck, and a cut in the nerve plexus in the left arm. Accordingly, it was decided that the injured person should be admitted to the operating room, where the doctors treated him with extreme professionalism to control the bleeding and control the injured person\u2019s vital signs.<\/p>\n
Dr. Kamal Al-Sharqawi, Head of the General Surgery Department, explained that in a new challenge facing the Maxillofacial Surgery Unit and continuing its diligent work in saving patients\u2019 lives, the injured person arrived in a state of shock, and was received by doctors of general surgery and maxillofacial surgery, so a medical committee was formed and the patient was transferred to the joint operating room as a result of being exposed to several separate stab wounds to the neck, face and back, which led to cuts in the esophagus, pharynx and thyroid gland.<\/p>\n
