A case of congenital paralysis, with damage to the nerve plexus, which affected the movement of the right shoulder, with the inability to raise the shoulder up or rotate it outward.<\/p>\n
Al-Numani explained that during the operation, a surgical intervention was performed to lengthen the anterior rotator muscles of the shoulder, then an exploration of the tendons, nerves and arteries in the armpit area was performed and the tendons in that area were transferred, with the aim of helping to raise the shoulder and the right upper limb and move and rotate it in all directions, adding that the operation was performed. Successfully, the child is in good health.<\/p>\n
Dr. Yasser Othman, Director of Hand Surgery and Microscopic Surgery Unit, Dr. Mohamed Shehata in the Orthopedic Department, and Dr. Hossam El-Din Hassan, an assistant lecturer in the Anesthesia Department, said that the operation took 3 continuous hours, and the case will require careful follow-up and physical therapy for more than a year, and the operation is considered part of a series of delicate and difficult surgeries, which is performed in the Hand Surgery and Microscopic Surgery Unit at Faculty of Medicine.<\/p>\n
