Al-Nomani: The Fund guarantees insurance and social care for financially incapable students and those with various disabilities to achieve the principle of equal opportunities in education.<\/p>\n
Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, stressed the important and fundamental role played by the Social Solidarity Fund in Egyptian universities, as it is the only way to help struggling students complete their university studies, achieve social security for them in its various forms of insurance and care, as well as solve the problems that prevent them from their studies due to the difficult economic and social conditions, pointing to the efforts made by the university administration to help the students who are financially unable, and students with various disabilities, to provide them with all means of support and care, and to meet their social needs necessary to complete the academic stage.<\/p>\n
Al-Numani explained that the expenses disbursed from the Social Solidarity Fund for the academic year 2023\/2024 are estimated at a total of 6 million and 500 thousand pounds, in order to support 5,497 students, both male and female, at the level of all faculties, as the expenses vary between paying study fees, electronic courses, and university city fees, treatment expenses, purchase of prosthetic devices, in addition to financial and in-kind aid.<\/p>\n
Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, added that all social research submitted by students to the Social Solidarity Department is sorted and examined, and cases deserving of support are selected and matched with the conditions and rules of the fund, indicating that the university has the interest of the university student \u00a0and works hard to facilitate Support procedures and its delivery to those who deserve it, and performing its social and educational role in an integrated manner, explaining that full tuition fees were paid for 5,135 male and female students, at a cost of 4 million and four hundred thousand pounds, in addition to paying residence fees in university cities for 54 male and female students at cost of 33,900 pounds.<\/p>\n
