First of all, I congratulate you on the new academic year, wishing you continued success and a happy stay, as you are the light that illuminates the future of this country, and the bright stars that shine in its sky.<\/strong><\/p>

The dormitory was opened in 1973.<\/strong>The coming students to the dormitory increased because the residence there is very cheap and safe<\/strong><\/p>

About:<\/strong><\/p>

Sohag University established a dormitory for the expatriates, but on certain conditions, as the dormitory doesn\u2019t accept any student otherwise he qualifies the conditions which the dormitory assigns<\/strong><\/p>

Worthy mentioning is that the administration sometimes hire buildings for the students to facilitate their arrival to the faculties also there is a new premise was opened at the new premise of the university<\/strong><\/p>

University dormitories are one of the most vital departments in the university, as it works to provide appropriate accommodation for expatriate students by providing accommodation in multiple housing units, some of which are located in the university campus or near it or within the city of Sohag, where it receives many students, whether from all the governorate<\/strong><\/p>

Vision:<\/strong><\/p>

The dormitory works on providing the residence ways for the expatriates through the service and supervision staff, as it provides the security and helps the students to overcome<\/strong><\/p>

the problems which face them through a specialized team of psychological and sociable specialists<\/strong><\/p>

It also works on meeting the needs of the students through the different activities which are held inside the dormitory.<\/strong><\/p>

Finally the dormitory decreases the alienation feeling and helps the students to depend on themselves<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

The dormitory provides the different activities and programs<\/strong><\/p>

It also promotes the cultural awareness of the students through holding the different seminars.<\/strong><\/p>

Firstly<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

\u00a0 it cares about the students of the special needs<\/span><\/p>

The dormitory provides a technological center, a library and banners, to the blinds, these ways are written by Braille<\/em><\/a> way, as Nour Albaseera center which was opened to provide good service to the blind students<\/span><\/p>

It also provides training courses in languages, computer and human development<\/span><\/p>

As well there is a library which contains magazines, books and academic curricula<\/span><\/p>

Secondly<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

Youth care office presents the following services<\/span><\/p>

A gym for physical fitness was opened<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>

Expand the green lands<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Provide playgrounds in the hostel<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Establish a cultural library and a social and scientific clubs<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Establish a glass hall to hold seminars and ceremonies<\/span><\/p>

Thirdly:<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>

it also presents the following projects<\/span><\/p>

MIS project<\/span><\/p>

MIS project was executed as the students apply to the hostel through the web site<\/span><\/p>

Worthy mentioning is that this project is considered as one of the best projects at the minister of high education<\/span><\/p>

Fourthly<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>

The general service center for employing the female students<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The university council issued a resolution dictated on establishing this center<\/span><\/p>

The center also has many aims;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

1- Participate in preparing the female students to be a good house wife<\/span><\/p>

2-Etsablish a unit to train the students on cooking and sewing<\/span><\/p>

There are also two sections in the center<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

1-sewing department: to sew all the requirements of the hostel and the hospital;<\/span><\/p>

2-cooking department: to make the confectionary to the staff members<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Fifthly:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

Food office<\/span><\/p>

Establish a bakery in the hostel to solve the problems which face food sector<\/span><\/p>

Establish food halls in the different buildings<\/span><\/p>

Also there is a central restaurant<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Sixthly:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

Establish the developed suite <\/span><\/p>

\u00a0Hosting the delegations from the Arab Universities<\/span><\/p>

Also hosting the foreign students\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Other services the dormitory presents:<\/span><\/p>

Washing and drying units to wash the blankets and bed sheets<\/span><\/p>

Maintenance unit for the carpentry, electricity and plumbing<\/span><\/p>

Provide a good residence to the students during the summer training<\/span><\/p>

Provide a good residence to the students of open learning <\/span><\/p>

Develop the kitchens and food halls<\/p>

The kitchen were prepared and renovated to provide the suitable healthy cooking<\/p>

Delegation suites<\/p>

A suite on the second floor was assigned to the delegated students, as it comprises 18 rooms\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Fifthly:<\/p>

Establish the glass halls to hold the seminars and the ceremonies<\/p>

The glass hall locates in the passage between h building and w building and it was prepared to hold the student activities<\/p>

Worthy mentioning is that many ceremonies were held in the glass hall<\/p>

Sixthly:<\/p>

Caring about the students of the special needs<\/p>

A developed suite was established to facilitate the movements of the students also the water closets were expanded<\/p>

The hostel as well established four centers for the blinds, four libraries and banners written by Braille way<\/p>

Kindergarten<\/p>

In 2012 the president of the university opened a kindergarten for the children of the employees, this kindergarten accepts the infants<\/p>

The hostels are considered the most important authorities at the university, as they provide the suitable residency for the male and the female students.<\/p>

Many external and internal students reside in the hostel.<\/p>

The importance of the hostel became greater because the female students can reside in it, as their families consider the hostel the safest place for their daughters because of the good supervision.<\/p>

The management of the hostel solves the problems of the students, provides many services which make the life easy and comfort and it promotes and develops the level of the residency.\u00a0<\/p>

Firstly:\u00a0<\/p>

In the frame of giving a special care for the students of the special needs<\/p>

The hostel provides the necessary services and a technological center for the students of the special needs<\/p>

\u00a0Secondly: MIS project\u00a0<\/p>

The MIS project was executed in the hostel, as the students can apply through the web site of the hostel.<\/p>

This project is considered as one of the best projects in the ministry of higher education, as it give the expatriates the opportunity to apply on line and save their efforts<\/p>

New students were accepted in university dormitories according to places, age and the priority for the youngest age and for residents at a distance of 25 km from the city of Sohag, after submitting a copy of the birth certificate or an official extract and a copy of the identity card.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Old students and residents of the university dormitories and external housing who have got, at least, a good grade are accepted, as well as students with disabilities are accepted based on a certificate approved by the General Administration of Medical Affairs and are distributed after approving the placement form from the college to which the student belongs or according to the placement of the previous year.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
