Sohag University President and the Assistant of Minister of Social Solidarity Witnessed the Personal Interviews of the Applicants for  the Administrative Positions at the Center

Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, received Dr. Amr Othman, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity and Director of the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Abuse, in the VIP Hall of the International Conference Center at the university’s new headquarters, to conduct personal interviews for applicants for the administrative positions at the Azima(will) Center for Addiction Treatment, in the presence of Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President of Sohag University. The University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Khaled Omran, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Magdy Al-Qadi, Dean of faculty of Medicine, Dr. Hazem Al-Hawaij, Executive Director of the Center, Hassan Harak, Legal Advisor for the Ministry’s Addiction Treatment Fund, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Kattani, Director General of Treatment Programs, To visit the “Al Azima” Center for Addiction Treatment in New Sohag City.

Al-Noamani praised the fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, headed by Dr. Nevin Al-Qabbaj, by concluding a cooperation protocol with the Ministry, represented by the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Abuse, to implement the plans of the political leadership towards combating and treating addiction and protecting young people from the dangers of narcotic substances, as the Ministry established a center “Azima” to treat addiction patients in the new city of Sohag under the full technical supervision of the university administration, adding that the center provides its treatment services to addiction patients free of charge and in complete confidentiality in accordance with international standards, in addition to providing support and care after recovery, and providing training for those recovering in trades required by the labor market. within the framework of community integration and economic empowerment of recovered individuals as useful individuals in society.

Al-Nomani added that an extensive inspection tour was conducted at the Al-Azima Center, which included inspecting the entire building, to determine the material and human capabilities available at the center, in preparation for including it among the presidential inaugurations, adding that the center was established on an area of ​​1,112 square meters with a capacity of 80 beds, at a cost of 56 million pounds, and includes An administrative building consisting of a ground floor and 3 additional floors, in addition to a number of clinics.

Dr. Amr Othman thanked Dr. Hassan Al-Nomani for his tireless efforts in this file, and the university’s prominent role and participation in implementing the national plan to combat drug abuse, through awareness campaigns and educational programs that aim to spread the culture of awareness and knowledge among university youth about the harms of addiction and its serious impact on people.

 The individual and society, explaining that the Ministry of Social Solidarity has established 28 treatment centers under the name “Al-Azima” in all governorates, whose services are not limited to recover only, but also social rehabilitation, psychological support, and economic empowerment to reintegrate the recovered person into society.
