Sohag University Council approves increasing the number of students accepted in the Faculty of Specific Education from of schools of Deaf, Dumb, and Hard of Hearing and Students of Educational Integration.

Sohag University Council, headed by Dr. Hassan Al-Nomany, President of the University, held its 204th session in March 2024.

In the presence of Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Khaled Omran, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, the accountant Ashraf Al-Qadi, Secretary-General of the University, and the deans of the faculties.

Alnomany explained that the Council approved on a number of important decisions, including increasing the number of students accepted at faculty of Specific Education from schools of deaf, dumb, and hard of hearing and students of educational integration, in the academic year 2024-2025, so that 10 students from the Department of Art Education and 5 students in the Department of Music Education from Educational Integration students.

Alnomani added that the Council agreed to add the “Social Issues” course for the second-level students of faculty of Education to the unified regulations for teacher preparation in the second semester of the academic year 2023-2024, which aims to raise the university students’ awareness of (population increase – human rights – transparency and anti-corruption issues) as a compulsory requirement.

 

 

The University President indicated that the Council also agreed to hold the annual conference of Faculty of Medicine under the title “Sohag Medicine Forum for Diabetes Diseases,” during the 21st and 22nd of next April, and to hold the first scientific conference of Faculty of Agriculture entitled “Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security in Light of Climate Changes.” change” during the 13th and 14th of next November.

It is worth noting that it was approved to appoint a professor in faculty of Science, and 4 staff members in the positions of assistant professors in Faculties of Science and Medicine, in addition to the appointment of 6 staff members in faculties of Arts, Science, Agriculture and Medicine in the positions of lecturers, In addition to granting PHd degrees to 12 staff members in faculties of Education, Arts, Medicine, and Alsun, and granting master’s degrees to 39 staff members in faculties of Education, Medicine, Science, Agriculture, Arts, Alsun, Nursing, and Physical Education.
