Prof. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, announced that the Supreme Council of Universities, headed by prof . Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, approved the start of study at Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research at the university, after ratifying the report of the committee formed by the Supreme Council of Universities.
This came during the Council meeting at the New Valley University, in the presence of Major General Muhammad Al-Zamlot, Governor of the New Valley, Dr. Abdel Aziz Tantawi, President of the New Valley University, Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, and the presidents of Egyptian universities.
Al-Nomany thanked Dr. Ayman Ashour for his efforts in the higher education sector, which aim primarily to develop students’ skills and provide an inspiring educational environment that stimulates creativity and innovation, which reflects positively on the international ranking of Egyptian universities and raises their positions in the global scene.
Al-Noamany also appreciated the approval of Dr. Ayman Ashour and the members of the Council to start the study at faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research, which will be the second faculty in the Republic to serve the citizens of Sohag and the neighboring governorates of Upper Egypt, in addition to students coming from different countries, stressing the university’s constant endeavor to provide more fields and new distinctive specializations that serve the issues of society and the environment, as the field of study at the faculty will contribute strongly to studying the environmental problems and finding solutions to them, and maximizing the use of natural resources and their development.
