Books Center

A center for publishing and distributing the university book at Sohag University was established after the approval of the University Council on 10/30/2006 AD.”

  The Center Goals:

The center aims to publish and distribute  the university books within the university.

Providing a distinguished service by improving the quality of university text books in the form and content.

Improving the educational process through commitment to course descriptions and authors’ commitment to that in their books contracted by the center.

Develop quality specifications for university textbooks and adhere to them

Developing the process of publishing university books and contracting with professors in various disciplines to publish their scientific production.

The organizational structure of the device

  1- Administrative Affairs Unit:

Handles contracts with faculty members.

Renewing the prices of books and notes in accordance with the regulations of the University Book Publishing and Distribution Authority in this regard approved by the University Council.

Renewal of support percentages for each course according to the approved academic hours in the list of each college and the value of the university’s support.

Make the delivery authorizations for the university book contracted by the staff member, in order to deliver to text books to the center’s branches in the colleges.

Financial Affairs Unit:

Reviewing the contracts concluded with the staff members with the center through the faculties’ regulations.

Making statements for disbursing 30% for the staff members

Making and reviewing 50p forms.

Make notebooks 224 to record data related to disbursement forms.

Reviewing the final qualifiers for the books sold after subsidizing the branches of the center in the various colleges.

Prepare the final report for the accounts of the branches and the central authority each semester and at the end of the fiscal year

3- Faculty units:

“Sub-centers for the center have been opened in the faculties of Commerce – Arts – Education – Sciences – Industrial Education – Medicine – Engineering based on the decision of the Board of Directors. The boards of directors of the branches in the colleges have been approved under the chairmanship of thdean of each college and some staff members of the faculty and employees of the college.

Services provided by the Book Center

1-Determining the percentage of support approved for the university book in the light of the price of the book and according to the support provided by the university. Thus, the student benefits from the value of support for each course during the two semesters of study in all the courses he studies.

2-The center contracts with the staff members to distribute the university book through branches of the center in the various faculties of the university, which makes it easier for students and staff to provide the service in the highest degree of professionalism and respect.
