President of Sohag University at the Embassy of “South Korea” to activate the “Korean” language department and support educational relations.

Dr. Ahmed Aziz, President of the University, held a meeting with “Oh Sung Ho,” the cultural advisor of the embassy of the Republic of “South Korea” in Cairo, and the director of the Korean Cultural Center, to open and operate the Korean language department at Al-Alsun College, and to discuss various aspects of cooperation with Korean universities, this was in the presence of Dr. Nasser Hajji, Dean of faculty Alsun, and Dr. Mirna Syed Sulaiman, demonstrator at the Korean Language Department.

Dr. Ahmed Aziz said that the meeting discussed the prospects for cooperation between the two the countries in the educational fields and identifying the support provided by the Korean embassy for the opening of the Korean languagedepartment at the university, and the mutual academic cooperation of faculty members and the assisting body.

He added that the meeting discussed a number of the support provided by them, the provision of some Korean language trainers for the department, the support of the department with some material assets such as the phonics library and the Korean books library, the provision of scholarships for teaching assistants in the department to obtain master’s and doctoral degrees, the expansion of Korean culture dissemination activities within the university and the Sohag community, through the implementation of a number of seminars and cultural events of common interest.

From his part, Dr. Nasser Hajji said that the meeting dealt with ways of cooperation between the two countries, through signing of a number of cooperation protocols in the future in the scientific fields.

He also pointed that  the upcoming visit that the Korean ambassador will make to the university to closely get acquainted with the human and material capabilities available at the faculty, and he also will visit the cultural and tourist places in the governorate.
